Tadpoems

“TADPOEMS” is 400 micro-poems interspersed with 50 of the author’s pics. The poems are mostly fun, apart from the black bits, with the odd dip into Nature, Politics, Religion and Philosophy. Tug Dumbly says: “many of these little squibs were born from walks, my mind freewheeling and conversing with whatever it passed in the moment. Or maybe I’d just be playing with words, or grinding over some ancient gripe, or some fresh piece of weirdness in the ether, some cultural or political absurdity, some buzzword, trend, dream, bit of levity, joy … whatever. It all gets minced in the walking machine and sometimes turned into these party franks. Or ‘Tadpoems’. There are one-liners, aphorisms and mock ads, and sweet little snippets of the natural world. There are Haiku-ish things, though they’re more often ‘Barb-Haiku’ than Basho. And yes, there are puns. A few are shameless life-support systems for Dad jokes. But I’m a dad, so that’s ok. This is a fun and accessible book for High-brow, Mid-Brow and Low-brow, even for those who’d rather gargle slugs than read a poem.
